Lighthouse Family is a now on-hiatus pop group of two from England. They chose the name Lighthouse Family to symbolize both the light shone by a lighthouse as well as the darker moods represented by the lighthouses functionality occurring at night. Describing their music as somewhat unconventional soul music, they prided their music, which emerged in the early 1990’s, as optimistic compared to the more morose offerings of other similar singers of the time. In a 1996 interview, the duo was quoted as saying that “Lighthouse Family is about many things, but one of the main things is really trying to get the best out of life, independently of your situation.”
No matter what your situation, this song is pure summertime love. I can’t describe it anymore than you can feel it. Below is a link to a sample of “Run” along with some very simple love lyrics. Together, the music and the lyrics feel like summer love always should: simple, smooth, care-free, and in the moment.
Got a picture of a glorious day
A sunny afternoon somewhere with a view
And I don’t care what it’s all about
As long as I’m with you
And I I wanna run away with you
I wanna run away with you
Wanna get a car and just drive away
Looking at the view and listening to tunes
And I don’t care what we talk about
As long as I’m with you
And I wanna run away with you
I wanna run away with you
